Memory Strategy Training in Spanish People with Moderate Intellectual Disabilities in a Technological Setting
Luz F. Pérez Sánchez and Jesús A. Beltrán Llera
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine whether it is possible to improve the memory of persons by means of acquisition and application of a rehearsal strategy within a technological setting. The results revealed significant differences between the experimental group, which learned to use the rehearsal strategy, and the control group, which was not taught this strategy. The discussion addressed ways teachers can help students with moderate intellectual disabilities to improve their memory by using technology, and how improved memory performance may improve students' academic performance and self-concept.
